Overview

Contrack is a personal CRM for keeping track of people, conversations and the next time you should get in touch. You can bring contacts together, merge duplicate records, add meeting notes and set reminders. A daily Pulse page shows overdue conversations and upcoming birthdays, while a map helps you find people near a city you’re visiting.

Search runs on local models, so you can look through your contacts and notes without an AI subscription. Optional AI features turn rough notes into contact details and research people online with source links. You choose a local model server or an external provider. Using a cloud provider can send contact information outside your server and incur API charges. Map geocoding also sends addresses to an external service unless you disable or replace it.

Contrack runs through Docker and stores its data in SQLite. Separate accounts let a household or small team share an installation while keeping their address books apart. You also get scheduled backups, exports and an MCP server for connecting an AI assistant.

The software is free under the AGPL licence, with hosting and any external services paid for separately. Enable authentication before allowing access beyond your own computer, and use HTTPS or a private network for remote access. The contact database is not encrypted. Existing users should also check the upgrade notes: version 2 requires a fresh database and does not migrate version 1 data.
