OpenDesign
OpenDesign is a self hosted workspace where coding agents create websites, prototypes, presentations and media using reusable design systems, skills and templates
Overview
OpenDesign is an open source workspace where coding agents create and refine websites, prototypes, dashboards, presentations, images and videos. You provide a brief, select a design system or add your own DESIGN.md, then let an installed agent such as Codex, Claude Code or OpenCode produce the project files.
The software includes a browser workspace, project previews, team feedback, reusable skills, plugins, templates and more than 150 packaged design systems. Finished work can remain as editable HTML and CSS or be exported into formats including PDF, PPTX, MP4 and ZIP. Because projects are stored locally, you retain direct access to the files rather than leaving them inside a proprietary editor.
OpenDesign can run as a desktop application, from source or through a documented Docker Compose deployment. You can connect your own model credentials, use an existing coding agent subscription or purchase optional OpenDesign model credits. The Apache 2.0 licensed core does not require its commercial cloud service.
There are some important operational limits. Agent processes can write files and execute commands, so they should receive a dedicated workspace and an appropriate sandbox. The Docker service uses single tenant authentication and needs an authenticated TLS proxy or VPN when accessed remotely. Optional analytics can be disabled, although official builds may continue sending scrubbed safety and reliability diagnostics.
