Proxy Workbench
Local proxy testing and management tool with ranked results, scheduled pools, exports, a rotating gateway, API access and headless Docker deployment
Quick Start
docker compose up -d Overview
Proxy Workbench is a free, open source application for collecting, testing and managing HTTP, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxies. It can gather addresses from supported public feeds or your own files, remove duplicates, test them against selected websites and rank the results by reliability and response time.
The application runs locally on Windows, macOS and Linux. A browser interface covers scans, results, sources, scheduled pools, exports and API keys. Working proxies can be exported as text, CSV, JSON, PAC, Clash or sing box configurations. A local rotating gateway lets applications connect through one address while Proxy Workbench selects proxies from the current pool.
Docker Compose is available for server and NAS installations, but this deployment is headless. It provides the command line tools, API and proxy gateway without the full browser interface. The desktop and Python installations store settings, results and SQLite data on your machine. The project has no accounts and sends no telemetry.
Proxy Workbench does not make your traffic private or anonymous. Public proxies can inspect destinations, view unencrypted HTTP traffic, alter responses or disappear without warning. Never send passwords, session cookies or private API tokens through an untrusted proxy. Network services bind locally by default, while remote access requires deliberate configuration and authentication.
The software uses the MIT licence and is free without paid plans. It is actively maintained but still has a small community and relies mainly on one developer.
